Four Tet, Ben UFO To Headline Magnetic Fields 2017
Two British electronic music artists, producer Four Tet aka Kieran Hebden and DJ Ben UFO aka Ben Thomson will respectively headline the South/day and North/night stages of the 2017 edition of Magnetic Fields. The music festival at Alsisar Mahal in Rajasthan will be held this year from Friday, December 15 to Sunday, December 17. The other international acts announced so far are such dance-friendly DJ-producers as Machinedrum aka Travis Stewart and Teebs aka Mtendere Mandowa, both of whom are from the US and will play the day stage; and Special Request aka Paul Woolford from the UK and Jayda G from Canada.
The Indian contingent spans multiple genres and includes electronica acts Ape Echoes and Sid Vashi from Mumbai, Aerate Sound from Bangalore, and Stalvart John from Kochi; three groups from Delhi, ska-fusion band The Ska Vengers, reggae sound system Bass Foundation Roots, and a jazz ensemble put together by pianist Arjun Sagar Gupta, the proprietor of capital-based music venue The Piano Man Jazz Club; and Latin jazz band The Latination from Kolkata. As previously announced, Magnetic Fields will feature the India premiere of Independence-themed Indo-British collaborative audio-visual presentation Different Trains 1947.
