New Cafes And Restaurants: Tea Villa Cafe In Chembur, Ruha In Powai
• The fourth outpost of Tea Villa Cafe has opened in Chembur where the tea menu is the same as across the chain. The new branch offers a breakfast menu that features brown poha; pizza toast; salad wrap; Nutella crepe; and apple pie crepe. Open daily, from 8am to 1am. • The city has got a new online dessert delivery service called Sugarplay.in. Set up by Le Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef Amit Mehta, SugarPlay offers macarons, pralines and truffles, tea cakes and signature pastries. The options include lime and basil macaron; sesame and kala khatta macaron; smoked orange macaron; rosemary dark chocolate truffle; passionfruit and bay leaf dark chocolate praline; dark chocolate, dark rum, sea salt and caramelised banana tea cake; Paradox (a signature dessert of coconut, pineapple, black pepper and chocolate); and Limewire (a pastry made of lime, peas, blueberry and dill). Orders must be placed online on Sugarplay.in. Open daily, from 11am to 7pm. They deliver in South Mumbai, Powai and Andheri East against a charge of Rs50 per order.
• Nawabi restaurant Ruha Kitchen and Bar opened in Powai on Monday, December 26. The 3,500 square feet fine-dining establishment offers sitavar ka shorba (asparagus, pistachio and fennel broth); Awadhi jhinga; mani gulnar (chargrilled pomfret); paneer bukhara; jhinga methi ka salan; malai phirni; and khubani ka meetha. Their signature tipples include the Earl Grey martini; bell pepper martini; orange and basil caprioska; and Caribbean Cloud (white rum and Malibu). Open daily, from noon to 1.30am.
