September heralds the gig season, which typically lasts until March but has been extended until May these past couple of years. While electronic music acts tour the country throughout the year, from next month, we can look forward to visits by a number of international rock and pop acts as well as album launches by Indian independent music stars. Here are some of the major shows taking place in Mumbai in September this year:

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
Blackstratblues at AntiSocial
City-based blues-rock guitarist and composer Blackstratblues aka Warren Mendonsa will play the Mumbai leg of his ongoing tour to promote his new chart-topping album The Last Analog Generation. The entry fee is Rs500 per person. For more information, see the Facebook event page.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9
The Magnets with Natalie Di Luccio at the NCPA Tata Theatre
British a cappella act The Magnets will perform the Mumbai leg of their two-city tour of India, which features Italian-Canadian singer Natalie Di Luccio. Tickets priced at Rs847, Rs1,271, Rs1,695, Rs2,542, Rs3,390 and Rs4,237 per person (excluding taxes and convenience fees) are being sold on Insider.in.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14
The Local Train at AntiSocial
Hindi rock band The Local Train, which is based in Delhi, will play the Mumbai leg of their ongoing tour to promote their second album Vaaqif, which is scheduled for release sometime in September. BlueTree Collab featuring Marco Minnemann, Mohini Dey and Rhythm Shaw at Hard Rock Cafe Worli
German drummer Marco Minnemann of progressive rock supergroup The Aristocrats will perform along with Mumbai musicians, bassist Mohini Dey and guitarist Rhythm Shaw at the Mumbai leg of BlueTree Collab, a new gig series by Ahmedabad-based artist and event management company BlueTree. Kush Upadhyay Group at AntiSocial

Easy Wanderlings + Voctronica at AntiSocial
Pune pop-rock band Easy Wanderlings will play the Mumbai leg of their tour to promote their debut album As Written In The Stars. The gig will include a set by city-based a cappella ensemble Voctronica. Call the venue for details of the entry fee.

Nitro at AntiSocial
The 1980s and ’90s American glam metal band Nitro will perform the Mumbai leg of their tour of India, which will include an opening set by Mumbai metal group Zygnema and Bangalore-based modern rock one-man act The Yummy Lab aka Yogeendra Hariprasad. Nitro, which is fronted by guitarist Michael Angelo Batio and singer Jim Gillette, reunited in 2016 and now features Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler. Their India tour has been organised by The Broken Roads Group, an artist and event management company in Bangalore. Phase one tickets, priced at Rs2,500 per person, are being sold on Insider.in.
