TDP Giveaway: Win Entry Tickets For Craft Beer Festival Tapped
Craft beer festival Tapped will return after a three-year gap on Sunday, February 26. The day will call for a double toast as the second edition of Tapped, which was first held in November 2014 at Wodehouse Gymkhana in Colaba, marks the comeback of Razzberry Rhinoceros. The bar in Juhu Hotel will reopen as a music venue in March, a decade after it was shut. To honour Razz’s legacy, this edition of Tapped will include music performances. Singer- songwriter Tejas Menon and electronic music DJ Funk Assassin aka Amul Lokanathan are among the artists that are scheduled to perform. “We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the beach and the nostalgia attached to Razzberry Rhinoceros, where each of us had partied when it was operational,” said caterer Bhakti Mehta, who co-founded Tapped along with Bonobo co-owner Nevil Timbadia; his partner at events company Homegrown India Saumya Khona; Rahul Mehra, co-founder of Gateway Brewing Co.; and Riday Thakur, who runs craft beer distribution venture Yeast India Company. Tapped will take place at both Razzberry Rhinoceros and at Juhu Hotel’s outdoor, beach-front section that’s frequently rented out for weddings.
The fest, of which The Daily Pao is a media partner, will feature taps by Mumbai’s Gateway Brewing Co., Doolally Taproom, Independence Brewing Co., The White Owl and Brewbot and Pune’s Effingut Brewerkz. Each of these microbreweries, brewpubs and taprooms will offer between four to six beers spanning wheat beers, stouts and India Pale Ales. Yeast India Company will supply imported bottled beers such as Amigos Tequila Beer, Hobgoblin, Erdinger, Shepherd Neame, Primator and Henney’s Cider. Tipplers can nosh on beer-friendly grub such as pizza slices by Lower Parel’s 1Tablespoon Pizza; barbecued meats by Bandra’s Eddie’s Bistro; Greek wraps by Khar’s Thalassa, banh mi sandwiches by casual-dining cafe chain Kaboom; burgers by the Woodside Inn chain of bars; pao de queijo or Brazilian baked cheese bread by new home-run catering service Bombar Breads, and waffles by dessert chain The Belgian Waffle Co.
