The Chainsmokers To Headline Road To Ultra In Mumbai, NCR In September
Earlier this year, it was announced that American electronic dance music festival Ultra, which is held annually in Miami in March, would be expanding to multiple countries around the globe, including India. Here, there will be a pair of Road to Ultra shows at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai and India Export Mart in Noida on Thursday, September 7 and Friday, September 8, respectively. The line-up for both gigs, which is out today, is headlined by US chart-conquering duo The Chainsmokers aka Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart.
Also on the bill are producers Sam Feldt from the Netherlands; Getter aka Tanner Petulla, Slushii aka Julian Scanlan, Lost Kings aka Robert Abisi and Nick Shanholtz, and Ultra resident Mykris aka Christophe Fernandez Neira from the US; Rezz aka Isabelle Rezazadeh from Canada, Raiden from South Korea; and India-based American DJ Siana Catherine. This will be the second India tour for The Chainsmokers who last played the country in 2014. Like Ed Sheeran, their popularity has grown exponentially since their last visit. (In fact, their recent string of hits has kept them in the top ten of the Billboard charts for every week since May 2016).
Their Road To Ultra performance will fulfill the promise they made to fans last month when they announced on Twitter that they will be touring India soon. The festival is being brought here by Percept Live, best known as the organisers of Sunburn. Tickets, starting at Rs2,000 per person, go on sale at noon on Sunday, July 9 on Bookmyshow.com.
