The new show by Delhi artist duo Thukral and Tagra is a set of playful games and artworks inspired by the museum’s collection of traditional playing cards. See here for the review. PHOTOGRAPHY Sidhpur: Time Present Times Past at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum

The Bohri community in Sidhpur, a small town in Gujarat, has been profiled by American photographer Sebastian Cortes in this exhibition. See here for our review. ART Mahesh Baliga at Project 88
Mumbai artist Mahesh Baliga, known for his dreamy use of colour, is exhibiting his new show of paintings entitled Passages from Reclusive Conversations.

THEATRE TALKS Sunil Shanbag at Somaiya Vidyavihar
Theatre director Sunil Shanbag will speak about how he stages historical narratives at this week’s edition of arts organisation Junoon’s Mumbai Local series of events. Blank Page, a short performance directed by Shanbag that explores contemporary poetry through movement, will be staged before the talk. There is no entry fee. THEATRE Bombay Jazz at the NCPA Experimental Theatre
Written by Ramu Ramanathan and directed by Etienne Coutinho, Bombay Jazz tells the story of the city’s Goan jazz musicians, who embellished the Hindi film scores of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s with their international influences. Tickets are priced at Rs300, Rs400, and Rs500 per head.

MUSIC Karsh Kale Collective Soundsystem at High Street Phoenix
Music will fill the courtyard of the mall when the Karsh Kale Collective Soundsystem, an electro-fusion ensemble helmed by the New York-based composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist performs, as part of Awestrung, a new monthly series of gigs at the shopping venue. Guitarist Randolph Correia, singer Apeksha Dandekar, sitar player Azeem Ahmed Alvi and beatboxer Yung Raj make up the ensemble whose performance will be preceded by an opening set courtesy of city-based percussion group Bombay Djembe Folas. FILM Short Film Night at The Pantry

The next edition of Kala Ghoda restaurant The Pantry’s monthly series of short film screenings, organised in collaboration with the Shamiana Short Film Club, will feature the BAFTA-winning Cell No.8 from Poland, American dark comedy Slut, and Indian theatre actor Chandan Roy Sanyal’s Hiroshima. The Bombay Barhoppers, a group of alcohol enthusiasts who frequently organise bar hops across the city, will conduct a non-competitive two-stop jaunt in Bandra, which will start at Kipos off Linking Road. KIDS’ EVENTS Chhoti Kahani Karnival at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum
This day-long festival for children will explore storytelling through theatre, art, dance, music and puppetry workshops, for kids between the ages two and 12. It will also include the staging of the play Wagabond at 6pm. Registration fees for the workshops range from Rs150 to Rs350 per child; tickets for the play are priced at Rs200 per head for both kids and adults. Colaba fine-dining restaurant Indigo will celebrate its sixteenth birthday with a boozy brunch. A BBQ station and a music band will be part of the festivities. In Charge, directed by theatre actor Yuki Ellias, a couple spend all their time in bed hooked to various gadgets. The man plays virtual reality games and his wife reaches out to people suffering in various ways through her robots as androids feed them and clear out their colostomy bags.
